innovation that creates value
- "Orange Labs constitutes the worldwide innovation network of the France Telecom-Orange Group. Founded in 2006, it groups 5,000 employees (researchers, marketers, engineers) in 18 countries on 4 continents. Each Orange Labs entity is thus integrated into its own geographical ecosystem, allowing it to pick up and anticipate technological progress and changes in usage patterns everywhere throughout the world. Orange Labs' international network is the concrete expression of the Group's ambition to give a new boost to innovation to make it the driving force in its transformation."
R&D is the main source of innovation for the Group, which holds more than 8,500 patents.
It is made up of 3,800 researchers spread over 15 laboratories on three continents (8 in France and 7 laboratories divided between Europe, America and Asia). Its establishments allow it to detect all technological breakthroughs and encourage partnerships.
- The Explocentre, founded in September 2005, is an incubator for projects with high potential for innovation. In addition to the work carried out by R&D and the Technocentre, it implements a new approach, based on client/design co-creation. The most promising projects are developed in the Technocentre.
- The Technocentre shortens the time necessary to go from a concept to market introduction. It groups about thirty "3P" teams (meaning "three partners"): under the responsibility of a marketing specialist, a researcher and a network engineer are brought together for the selection, design, production and market introduction of innovative products and services.
